Jazz

Primary Jazz

This is a class to introduce young dancers to rhythm, simple body isolations, and very basic jazz movements like the jazz square, pivot step and stretching. Dancers will enjoy this fun expression of dance while preparing for Jazz 1. This is a performing class and dancers will learn their dance by learning a little more of their combination each week.

Jazz 1

In this class dancers are taken through a basic jazz warm up and will also learn with dance progressions going across the floor. Dancers in this level will learn jazz positions of the arms and legs, the difference between a flat and contracted back, as well as first year jazz movements such as: pas de bourree, kick ball change, pirouette preparation, chasse, pivot step, and fun leaps. This is a performing class and dancers will learn their dance by learning a little more of their combination each week.

Jazz 2/3a

In this class dancers are taken through a basic jazz or hip hop warm up and will also learn with dance progressions going across the floor. Dancers in this level will learn jazz positions of the arms and legs, the difference between a flat and contracted back, as well as building on and learning other jazz movements such as: pas de bourree, jazz walk, kick ball change, pirouette preparation, chasse, pivot step, lay out, hitch kick, double knee jump, and more. This is a performing class and dancers will learn their dance by learning a little more of their combination each week.

Jazz  3b &C

In this class dancers are taken through a basic jazz warm up and will also learn with dance progressions going across the floor. Dancers in this level will build on and learn other jazz movements such as: kick ball change, pas de bourree, pirouettes, chasse, pivot step, lay out, hitch kick, double knee jump, fan kick, jazz leap, pencil turn, knee turn and Much more.  This is a performing class and dancers will learn their dance by adding on to it each week.

Jazz 4 & 5

In this class dancers are taken through a more challenging jazz  warm up and will also learn with dance progressions going across the floor. Dancers in this level will be challenged to strengthen their jazz technique with more adage, greater flexibility, and range of motion.  This is a performing class and dancers will learn their dance by learning a little more of their combination each week.

Jazz  6-10

In this advanced jazz class dancers are taken through a challenging jazz warm up they will memorize and will also learn with dance progressions going across the floor. Dancers in this level will be pushed in their jazz technique and have their skills refined.   This is a performing class and dancers will learn their dance by learning a little more of their combination each week.

Hip Hop

Beginner Hip Hop- Level 1 & 2 (ages 7-10)

Lyrical

Lyrical 1 & 2

In this first year of lyrical, dancers will be introduced to a basic center warm up which incorporates ballet positions and technique. Students will learn lyrical movements through progressions across floor and lyrical combinations. Dancers will be taught to apply their technique acquired in ballet as the foundation for all lyrical movement. This is a performing class and dancers will learn their dance by learning a little more of their combination each week.

Lyrical 3A-3C

Second and third year lyrical students will be taken through a center lyrical warm up and learn more challenging exercises going across the floor. Dancers will be taught to apply their technique acquired in ballet as the foundation for all lyrical movement. They will also be challenged in their expression of movement, use of floor space, and "story telling" ability through dance. This is a performing class and dancers will learn their dance by learning a little more of their combination each week.

Lyrical 4

This class will take all the lyrical/ballet training dancers have attained and challenge them with perfecting their movements and technique through the warm up, exercises across the floor and choreography.

In this class dancers will develop a keener awareness in their movements and sharpen their ability to express emotion through lyrical dance.  This is a performing class and dancers will learn their dance by learning a little more of their combination each week.

Lyrical 5,6,7 ( Those to be Company Trainee-Junior Trainee)

Having gained a few years of lyrical technique, this level will push dancers to be more expressive and creative in their dancing. Students will enjoy the structure of class work, challenging and full of life choreography while learning how to dance "bigger" from the start to finish of class.  This is a performing class and dancers will learn their dance by learning a little more of their combination each week.

Lyrical 8,9,10 (Those to be Junior & Senior Company)

By this lyrical level dancers have already gained much experience and technique in their dancing. This class will challenge the dancer's endurance, skill, and acuteness to choreography while teaching them how to dance with power, fluidity and efficiency. This is a performing class and dancers will learn their dance by learning a little more of their combination each week.

Adult Ballet

Teens and adults will enjoy this fun and structured dance based work out class. We begin at the barre for 30 minutes of ballet technique exercises which are aimed to strengthen core muscles, teach correct alignment and also incorporate stretching. The second 30 minutes is either more ballet or conditioning work in the center. This will only a performing class if those involved want it to be!

Stretch Class

stretch Class is a great benefit to any dancer, especially when taking many dance classes a week.  This additional class will be just what your muscles need!  Dancers in this class will also be given a calendar each month with specific stretches to do at home.

Tap

Tap Pink is an intro to tap steps and terminology. class.. The Basic steps will be used to build a basis for more advanced future levels.

Tap White is a beginning class to tap technique and basic steps to build upon. It is the entry level of and the foundational class.

Tap Purple: This class learns more style, technique and builds upon the basics to new levels of dance.

Tap Blue: This class expounds upon the prior years of tap technique and stretches the dancer to new styles of dance and brings in the stylistic element of more traditional arms and body movement.

Tap Orange: this class that challenges the dance to new levels of street tap and traditional tap steps in various genres and style.

Tap Red is the most advanced level for the dancer that integrates many different styles of tap technique from street tap to more traditional Rockette style teaching.
